The Payroll Specialist serves as a contact for our client's payroll needs. The Payroll Specialist is expected to consistently provide excellent service to each client and to ensure that work product is high quality. • Full cycle processing of numerous payrolls on a daily basis, process multi-state payroll clients and complex payrolls. • Train clients and employees on payroll online system • Improve client retention by building and maintaining a client relationship based on trust and dependability, quality service and exceeding client expectations. • Processes payroll changes such as new hire on-boarding, salary adjustments, special payments, tax allocations and payroll deducti
ons. • Research and respond to client inquiries for guidance on pay practice and payroll tax questions. • Collaborate with internal partners to resolve issues and ensure that the client's expectations are met. • Research, troubleshoot and resolve client system problems. • Identify potential problems and/or compliance issues related to the Fair Labor Standards Act (Exempt v. Non-Exempt, minimum wage, overtime, etc.), state wage and hour laws, workers compensation classifications, employee terminations and final pay and employee classifications (full-time, part-time, seasonal and temporary). • Maintain client and employee files including scanning and storing electronically. • Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned. Education & Experience: • High school diploma or GED required. • 3+ years of experience processing high-volume multi-state payrolls daily, required. • Strong understanding of payroll tax principles and wage and hour laws. • Payroll certification is preferred but not required. • PEO experience is preferred but not required. • Certified Payroll Professional designation is preferred but not required.
